We have partnered with Open Implants for the launch of their milling center services in Santa Ana, California, at Open Implants new FDA milling center.

We have worked closely with Open Implants to design and manufacture new fixtures and develop new machining templets to meet or exceed the FDA quality requirements and Open Implants strict quality and performance requirements.

This initial partnership represents the first phase of our partnership, which showed significant quality, performance, and support improvements over competitive solutions. The second phase and additional services for the management of custom abutments will be announced in Q3 2024.

to it’s PNP Workflow
Allows

Labs & Dental Practices to Produce FDA Compliant Custom Abutments

After close collaboration with DESS, our Versamill’s have been added to their FDA-accredited PNP workflow that allows dental labs and milling centers to utilize DESS preMILL blanks and Ti bases to produce FDA-approved custom abutments that meet FDA regulatory requirements—without a QMS system or FDA registration.

The PNP Workflow offers compatibility with more than 30 abutment types and 18 implant systems covering 56 implant platforms, providing flexibility for dental labs and milling centers of all sizes. The solution is available for use with 3Shape scanners, 3Shape, Exocad, and hyperDENT software that are used with DESS libraries and components for the fabrication of custom abutments on Versamill milling machines —all while meeting FDA regulatory requirements.

The components, including software and blanks, are available directly from Axsys Dental Solutions, as are five specialized packages for the Versamill machines that have been validated and approved for the DESS PnP Workflow. Each package includes the machine and the hardware, software, and services necessary to produce FDA-cleared custom abutments from DESS premilled blanks.
