Origin Compatible Dental Burs

Our new Masterpiece line of dental tooling provides users of dental milling machines a high-quality, low cost option for their dental milling needs.

Using state-of-the-art coating processes such as Physical Vapor Deposition technology (PVD) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) each tool in the Masterpiece Series is engineered to reduce friction, extend load carrying capacity and improve wear behavior. Extensively tested for tolerances, Axsys’ new milling cutters go through multiple cleaning cycles and receive a laser treatment to assure minimum run-out.

Masterpiece tools are available in solid carbide form as well as coatings of Titanium Silicon Nitride  (TiSiN) and two diamond coatings. Diamond coating options include: Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) and crystalline diamond (CVC).  Available sizes include diameters of: 2.5mm, 2.0mm, 1.0mm, 0.6mm and 0.3m. 

Two diamond coatings are offered in the Masterpiece line affording dental professionals to choose the mix of price to performance that is right for them. The matrix of varied crystal structures in the Masterpiece CVC diamond-coated tools provides the strongest protection against abrasive and adhesive wear while protecting the cutting edge from damage due to mechanical shock. CVC diamond tooling can provide up to 10 times the number of units that can be machined with solid carbide tooling while DLC tools perform at approximately half the rate at a lower price point.

Masterpiece tools are fully compatible with a variety of open system dental milling machines including those from: Roland®, imes-icore GmbH and Orgin®.  These high quality, long lasting cutting tools are offered at much lower price points; enabling dental labs and milling centers to significantly reduce their annual cutting tool costs.

Origin Compatible TiSiN Coated Carbide Ball-nose End Mills

Faster, Wet or Dry Machining with Titanium-Silicon Nitride Coatings.

Together, titanium and silicon (TiSi) make an outstanding team for nitride hard material coatings. Silicon guarantees excellent resistance to oxidation while the presence of titanium ensures particularly hard coatings. When combined, the two elements are wear resistant even at very high temperatures.

TiSiN-coated tools are extremely wear-resistant and permit high machining speeds. Machining operations without the use of coolants also pose no problem. Even tough materials such as nickel-based alloys and titanium-based materials are easy to machine using titanium-silicon nitride-coated tools.

Crystalline diamond coating can increase tool life 10 times or more) over un-coated burs with faster material removal, more reliable unattended high precision machining and reduced use of coolant.
